Using which Intel gfx hardware device? What's on your kernel cmdline? With most
Intel gfx, modesetting is used automatically when xf86-video-intel is not
installed and xserver is newer than 1.16.x. I've been using it in such manner
with most of my Intel machines for several years, so I have no need of
/etc/X11/xorg.conf* to specify either device driver or accel method.
