Xorg 1.16.4 and multimedia keys

I have a problem after recent upgrade from debian wheezy to jessie, because
of hardware replacement. The goal was to get a newer Xorg server version
that would support the intel graphic controller on Dell e5440.
After the upgrade the multimedia keys on the notebook are working but the
multimedia keys on the external usb keyboard are not. They even not
register in xev as suggested to test in several forums.
I already tried 105key and latitude in /etc/defaults/keyboard and xorg.conf
but with no success. When searching in google on "a4techKB21" I found this
which describes similar (I would say 95%) to my issue.
I use custom build 3.19 kernel - see below for other details
How could I solve this problem?
Thank you in advance
