GSoC finished only a couple of weeks ago and the website says that it's
"off-season" until Feb 3. Until then, I recommend getting familiar with the
code in general, maybe picking a bug or two that affects you and start by
fixing those. That's how most of us got into Xorg development.
Once you start hacking, you'll find that a project of interest will present
itself.
