Then it must change to 1920×1080 later.  But I didn’t see mention of
that in the logs.

It did report 1920×1080 after references to the edid of the other
display (which I took to be the old 42).

Is http://i2.minus.com/iQUKGjZbRMiNz.png indeed the new 42?
