I can not use 120Hz with nouveau

If you look at "xrandr --verbose" you will see an property that is
called "scaling mode", set that to none and that should give the same
effect.
But i still get the impression that the 120Hz mode doesn't even stick,
regardless of whether it's using the native mode or not.
