LIBGL_DEBUG=verbose glxinfo | grep -e ' render' -e 'OpenGL version'

shows you:

      * Which r600_dri.so it's picking up 
      * Whether it's using direct rendering 
      * Whether it's using hardware acceleration 
      * The Mesa version
