Injecting/forwarding mouse and keyboard events into an Xserver, on a remote machine over the LAN

Hi,

Is it possible to forward the mouse and keyboard events of a machine
to a second one, running X?

I'm not looking for something like VNC or X over SSH, where the user
gets the remote machine's entire screen/input reproduced on his
machine, but rather trapping and sending input events from one machine
to another one, where the later will receive them and forward these to
its applications.

Is there any input driver for X that would listen for input events
coming/received from the network and propagate them to the desktop
application running on X? If not, is it there any thing close to this?
