Intel and Xorg freeze - what may be the problem?

The kernel & Xorg messages are just alerting you to a problem in a very
generic manner. Every Intel GPU hang generates these identical messages,
and there appear to be an infinite number of ways we can hang the GPU.
(Ignoring all the other methods we can use to cause the GPU/system to
hang/stall.) In order to distinguish the different causes we need the
means to reproduce and the i915_error_state recorded at the time of the
error, as well as identification of hardware and any other hints gathered
from the system.
