AutoAddDevices is enough to disable HAL support at run-time.

It's a bug, one that has already been fixed [1] in both master and in
newer versions from the 1.6 branch. 1.6.3.901 should work just fine.

Upgrading to 1.6.3.901 is strongly advised.
