Some apps displaying on all virtual desktops. How can I stop this erroneous behaviour ?

Some apps I am running display their windows :
*  on all virtual desktops
* above all other windows, including their own menus

Google earth and ubigraph are examples. Google earth only shows its
main window on all desktops, the decorations, menu bars etc only appear
on the virtual desktop on which the app was started. Ubigraph looses
its window manager decorations after switching and returning to a
virtual desktop, and displays itself on all desktops.

There are no complaints or notes added to Xorg or any other log, well,
actually, googleearth complains about a missing font, but I don't think
that that is the crux of the problem.

I have posted on the list for the window manager that I am running
(enlightenment), and the response was that it has nothing to do with the
window manager and that other people running the same window manager are
running google earth without any problems.

Maybe it is an xserver / xorg configuration error ?

If someone has encountered this before, it would be great to know the

I am running debian testing 2.6.26-2-686 , on a PC i686 (dell latitude
D610 laptop)

Thank you for any help you can share
