I think any comprehensive test suite for XCB is going to need an
integrated fake server that can check various aspects of the protocol
that the client is generating, and maybe generate bad data in response.
I think the X Test Suite already has the "generate every possible piece
of protocol and validate the server's response" niche covered.

Yeah: "checking for CHECK... no". :-) You need check version 0.9.4 or
newer. Upstream source is at http://check.sourceforge.net/; it's also
packaged in Debian and presumably other distros.
