My xorg.conf uses vesa driver.

It doesn't have DPMS configured specifically, but the default is to enable
the extension.

This is with xf86-video-vesa-1.3.0 with xorg-server-1.3.0.0.

"xset dpms force standby" and "xset dpms force suspend" and "xset dpms
force off" all turn on the default X screensaver.

"xset q" shows:

DPMS (Energy Star):
  Standby: 1200 Suspend: 1800 Off: 2400
  DPMS is Enabled
  Monitor is On

My Xorg.0.log has:

(II) VESA(0): DPMS capabilities: StandBy Suspend; RGB/Color Display

My display is:
(--) PCI:*(1:5:0) ATI Technologies Inc ATI Radeon Xpress 1200 Series rev
0, Mem

pci bus 0x0001 cardnum 0x05 function 0x00: vendor 0x1002 device 0x791f
ATI Technologies Inc ATI Radeon Xpress 1200 Series

Anyway to turn off the physical display when using vesa?

Or please point me to documentation on this.

Thanks,

  Jeremy C. Reed
