Reduced Blanking with Xorg 7.1

I have a dell E248WFP monitor and an nvidia geforce2ti.  In xorg 6.9 I 
am able to get the native resolution (1920x1200) working using a custom 
modeline:
 Modeline "1920x1200"  154.128 1920 1968 2000 2080 1200 1203 1209 1235

However, in xorg 7.1 with the same setup and same nvidia binary driver, 
I get the error:
(II) NVIDIA(0): Not using mode "1920x1200" (monitor doesn't support 
reduced blanking)

This is using Slackware 11.0 with xorg 6.9, and Slackware 12.0 with xorg 
7.1.  I am using the 'legacy' binary nvidia driver and my card has VGA 
output (no DVI).

Any hints?  I've tried adding     Option   "ReducedBlanking" "true"
to my Monitor section, but it didn't help.
