Awesome, thanks Maxim.  I hacked up this patch a little and pushed it as 
5915c75422c5277d530e7f8ecbdfe94654706efd.  Please test it out and make sure 
everything's ok.  I ended up killing the HW_HAS_OVERLAY check (should be easy 
enough to add back in later if needed) since we don't seem to need it at all 
right now.

I'll hold off on pushing the textured video disable option unless there's lots 
of demand, since users can already select which port they want in their 
applications.
