If I recall correctly, it was merged to master git only a few weeks ago.
Your best bet on Gentoo is to use the X11 overlay:

# layman -a x11
# autounmask x11-base/xorg-server-9999
# emerge -av =xorg-server-9999

Gotta warn you, though, it WILL break certain drivers (synaptics!) and
you'll have to rebuild all of your various X modules. Also fglrx has
issues, doubly so on Gentoo.
