Being as I know that I have a problem sometimes recognizing tags in a
compllicated page, I spent more than 5 minutes poring over
http://www.mesa3d.org/ (without the "beta/" that you added) but I was unable to
find a single reference to that beta.   Where was that, or did you have some
info from working in that project?  I mean, I tried really hard, even googling,
and found nothing ... I even considered complaining on this list about requiring
the git archive version without referring to it, but decided in the end that
that would have been unreasonable.
