You're on Gentoo.  Installing it means building it.

The tarball you get in Gentoo is the upstream tarball.

All the tarballs are in /usr/portage/distfiles

Anyway, I was about to point you to docs that exactly describe X.Org on 
Gentoo, but you said you don't want help so there.
