Hi Alex,

I had a bit of trouble compiling ati 6.9.0, but I've finally managed
it. Unfortunately the result is still the same.

I also tried manually specifying my configuration but got a Sig11

Backtrace:

9: /usr/bin/X(FontFileCompleteXLFD+0x201) [0x8073a91]

Fatal server error:
Caught signal 11. Server aborting

The reason I had trouble compiling 6.9.0 was that ./configure didn't
pick up all of the dependencies. I'm not entirely sure what it missed
but one of:

build-essential
xserver-xorg-dev
x11proto-xinerama-dev
x11proto-xf86misc-dev
x11proto-gl-dev
mesa-common-dev

Cheers.

Steve.
