You don't *bundle* gnutar with the distribution files you ship, do you?

As long as you do not, I don't see what the license on the tar program
has to do with the issue; even if someone construes you to be
"requiring" the newer tar to unpackage the program, you're still not
"distributing" it, so what license it's under should not bear on the
license of the package, correct?
