Any further ideas on this problem?

It's still an issue with the 2.4.2 driver with and without your patch 
applied.

I can provide any info you need but I'm getting a lot of complaints from 
Mandriva users about this so some thoughts on the problem would be 
appreciated (as would a fix :p)
