Crash during X startup (intel driver)

I am using the intel graphics driver with G43 graphics. Occasionally,
when X starts up, the computer completely hangs. Unfortunately, there
are no messages printed to the console or written to /var/log/messages,
and I have to completely restart the machine.
I'm attaching two Xorg.0.log files, one from a crash, and one from a
normal session. The log from the system-hanging session stops just
before where the normal log prints, "(II) intel(0): EDID vendor "SAM",
prod id 1087". Other than that, the two logs are identical other than a
few drm lines.
Is this a known problem, or should I open a bug report? Is there any
other information I should try to collect?
Thanks.
