Intel 2.4.0 dithering problem

It is subtly different I'm afraid. Might be related though, but I could
never get back to X11 or console. Judging crudely from the fact that
capslock stopped updating its kbd LED, I'd guess something hung, and I
had to recover with Magic Sys-Rq. (IE.. machine isn't wedged, just input
- so probably X11 died badly).

I've not had the time to debug it thoroughly (find a machine to ssh in
from would have been a start), and due to problems with GL visuals I
need to get work done this week, I've reverted to Intel driver 1.4.0 and
7.1-rc3 mesa.

Looks like people are on track with the information needed to fix that
bug you posted though, which is good. It might just take some
experimentation to work out the right sequence of register updates for
the gfx card.
