Yes, I don't understand xkb, obviously. I had not looked at any xorg code 
before yesterday so my patch is very simplistic, but it does work for me. I 
thought it might be helpful to others who are bothered by this problem the 
same as I and it could tie them over until the proper fix was released. Of 
course I had hoped I wasn't so "screwy".  Oh well, better luck next time.
