CORRECTION: something crashes xorg when vt switching

 ...until I "stress-tested" vt-switching by doing it really often.

I'm sorry for the inexact descriptions regarding this; it is really
difficult for me to get to a description sufficiently accurate, as the
described symptom

  a) does occur infrequently/unreliably, with higher probability the
later the time of the git checkout

  b) did show no logmessages (that I did see) until the crashes of
git-2007-08-20 which I "provoked" by switching often (this is not to say
that the symptom does not occur at first switch after boot; it's just
extremely rare in git-2007-08-20 that it does)

I finally have an xorg log that I can attach to the error report (I'd
rather have a working version, though :)  .. ).
