anyway i solved the problem myself - turned out that it was only 1 Option in
the Monitor Section which i needed:
Option "ModeValidation" "NoVertRefreshCheck"
I already tried this one but it seems the other options i used have
overwritten its function ...
the relevant passage in my xorg.conf:
Section "Monitor"
Identifier "Standardbildschirm"
HorizSync 31.5 - 64.3
VertRefresh 50.0 - 70.0
Option "DPMS"
Option "ModeValidation" "NoVertRefreshCheck"
ModeLine "1280x800 at 50" 59.256 1280 1328 1360 1440 800 803 809 823
-hsync -vsync
ModeLine "1280x720 at 50" 60.466 1280 1328 1456 1632 720 721 724 741
