Hello,
I was trying different ways of displaying OpenOffice slides
simultaneously on the projector and on LVDS. It seems the only
reasonable way is to use the "clone mode" (that works automatically
with intel driver), provided one sets up the SAME resolution for both
LVDS and VGA.

Well, here is the problem. xrandr -q gives:
Screen 0: minimum 320 x 200, current 1400 x 1050, maximum 2048 x 2048
VGA connected (normal left inverted right)
   1280x1024 60.0 + 59.9
   1024x768 74.9 75.1 70.1 60.0 59.9
   800x600 75.0 74.9 60.3 59.9
   640x480 75.0 60.0
   720x400 70.1
LVDS connected 1400x1050+0+0 (normal left inverted right) 304mm x 228mm
   1400x1050 60.0*+
   1280x800 60.0
   1280x768 60.0
   1024x768 60.0
   800x600 60.3
   640x480 59.9
TMDS disconnected (normal left inverted right)
---------
The common mode is only 1024x768.... I wonder whether I can achieve the
mode of 1280x1024 on LVDS ?? Changing the Modes line in Screen/Display
subsection in /etc/X11/xorg.conf does not have any effect...... Is there a
way to force intel driver to use other modes ???

Versions used:
xserver-xorg 7.2, xserver-xorg-video-intel git version of 29.8.2007.

Regards
              Tomas
