Website maintenance volunteers?

Well noted. For most of the problems mentioned, the wiki engine is
largely irrelevant, (unless some wikis are just plain broken with
regard to spam or something).

But a common cause of many of the current problems is a general lack
of maintenance. And a wiki engine can help indirectly here if it makes
things less painful to work with[*]. And since you're stepping up to
take charge of a bunch of the maintenance, the engine that makes you
the most productive makes a lot of sense to me anyway. (Plus, I am
pretty happy with ikiwiki---see more below.)

[*] Personally, I've been mostly happy with ikiwiki for the cairo
website. I love that I can edit the wiki with my favorite editor and
"git push" just like code, (while others can still use the web
forms). And we actually have decent-looking pages with graphics even:

which is something that never really happened with moin, (the image
uploading features were far too painful in my experience).
