Hi,
If we can sensibly reduce our build dependencies (i.e. without having
ridiculously large C/shell files that defeat the point of using
Perl/Python in the first place), then I don't see why we shouldn't.  As
Joerg noted, Perl is just so abysmally horrible at cross-compilation I
don't know where to start.  (Basically, you need Scratchbox, and to use
Scratchbox is to fail at life.)
