FWIW, a certain N-brand video adapter connected to the very same display
via VGA results in working 75Hz;

(WW) NVIDIA(1): The user specified HorizSync "10.000-90.000" has been adjusted
(WW) NVIDIA(1):      to "31.000-81.000" (the intersection with EDID-specified
(WW) NVIDIA(1):      HorizSync "31.000-81.000")
(WW) NVIDIA(1): The user specified VertRefresh "10.000-90.000" has been

(WW) NVIDIA(1):      EDID-specified VertRefresh "56.000-75.000"
