I just installed today's git version and tried again.

No luck yet. I'm still getting X crashing when starting Thunderbird and 
Firefox. I didn't test anything else ( but I tested these a couple of 
times, and rebooted between each crash ). I've attached the X server log 
from the last crash.

It's perfectly stable with EXA disabled though.
