Hello,
i have a Dell Latitude D830 with Intel X3100 gfx and WUXGA resolution.
I'm running ubuntu 7.04 with the 2.0.0-2 driver (took it from ubuntu
7.10) despite that beryl crashes X... that is only a side issue, i have
something more odd. (Other crashes too)
The output on the internal screen is unsharp and colour gradients have
"steps" so the 24 bit display looks like 16 bit or less.
When i connect a external monitor it's sharp and the colours are right.
(at this point i still hoped the laptop is just crap)
I still have this Windows Vista on the laptop and it correctly displays
the colours and the output is sharp.
So the xorg intel driver does something wrong.
It was suggested to try out the driver from git, but it doesn't work, i
get:
(==) intel(0): Silken mouse enabled
(II) intel(0): Initializing HW Cursor

Is there a working good tag in the git?
Is the problem known?
