xf86-video-intel 2.0.0 & gma950: lockups with strange red and white pixels at the top of the screen

since i upgraded the driver for the gma 950 in my thinkpad to 2.0.0, i
get strange lockups when switching between X and a tty, exiting X or
resuming or suspending from/to ram. those lockups don't occur all the
time, but like 90% of the time i do one of the above. those occur with
xorg-server 1.2 and 1.3. with the older i810 driver 1.7.4, i never got
any of those issues, so i downgraded for now, and it works again, but
that's not really a solution to the problem.

also i'm not the only one with that problem:

any infos if this is fixed in the next release or anything else?
