glXMakeCurrent fails

I have been trying to run Unidata's IDV program and everytime I run it the
error

glXMakeCurrent fails

displays and even though the program windows appear, the window does not
works.

I am using CentOS 5 and the opengl library is mesa libGL 6.5

Any idea how to fix this?
