Xorg 1.1.1 + Mesa 6.5.2 = White screens with i810 driver and beryl/compiz

Here are the steps that I just did:
- Cloned git HEAD of mesa. Compiled and installed the libraries in the 
following two locations:
     /usr/lib64
     /usr/lib64/xorg/modules/dri
- Cloned git HEAD of xserver
- Applied patches:
     xorg-server-1.1.99.901-GetDrawableAttributes.patch
     xorg-server-1.1.99.901-glXDRIbindTexImage-target.patch
- Compiled beryl 0.1.4 and installed.
- ldd /usr/bin/beryl | grep GL yields:
     libGL.so.1 => /usr/lib64/libGL.so.1 (0x00002b44932b9000)

- Started beryl. The screen still stays white :-( . The only difference 
is that now the cube tends to flicker _wildly_ when I rotate it.
