Using standard i810 driver I have the following:
(II) Loading sub module "ddc"
(II) LoadModule: "ddc"(II) Module alread ybuilt-in(II) I810(0): VESA VBE
DDC supported
(II) I810(0): VESA VBE DDC Level none
(II) I810(0): VESA VBE DDC transfer in appr. 0 sec.
(II) I810(0): VESA VBE DDC read failed
(II) I810(0): Will use BIOS call 0x5f05 to set refresh rates for CRTs.
Using modesetting I have something like this:
(II) intel(0): I2C device "CRTDDC_A:ddc2" registered at address 0xA0.
(II) intel(0): I2C device "CRTDDC_A:ddc2" removed.
(II) intel(0): EDID for output VGA
(II) intel(0): Not using default mode "640x350" (vrefresh out of range)
The downside of modesetting driver is that it completly ignore
horizontal sync and vrefresh of the monitor set in xorg.conf, so if it
fail retrieve EDID info, it is unable to set proper video mode on moitor
and it goes blank.
