7.2.0/sis: RANDR failing to set the mode

You must have compiled the server with randrproto version 1.2; this
'doesn't work' as the server incorrectly reports RandR version 1.2 while
only supporting version 1.1.

Go back to randrproto version 1.1 and rebuild the server.
