sparc problem

Hi, I'm having some problem running an xserver on a sparc ultra 5,
connected (via ethernet) to a pentium-4:
everyting is working fine, but when I try to run mplayer, or any other
video player (totem, xine...) it doesn't work.
The only interesting message I get is:
"BGR not supported, please contact the developers"

I think it is something related to endianess, is it possible ?

connecting to the client (pentium-4) whith another i386-compatible
xserver works fine, also mplayer.
On every computer is installed debian etch.
