evdev takes care of the low-level stuff. So everything autoconfigured
at the kernel (module) level would work the same in xorg. The kernel
hides if a keyboard is PS/2, usb... hotplugged or not, and you'd get
the same level of support in xorg. The same keyboard would have the
same effect if it's plugged as PS/2 or USB (not the case right now).
However, just like you need to select a logical keyboard layout for
the console, you'll still need to select a logical layout for X (I
think there are plans to hook a layout chooser in gdm).
