can I beg for some eyeballs on a netbsd wscons/XInput mouse problem?

bad outcome for some users from the XInput changes in between the old
xf86-input-mouse and the 1.6.19x code. somewhere in the abstract model
which has to take wscons events, and make synthetic X input events, we
loose the dx/absx value and the mouse swishes over to the hard-left. Its
triggered by a motion event over window decor, or during repaint of
sub-elements in a complex (typically gnome) application
I put it into bugzilla as a low priority problem, but it does make the
system unusable. the remediation is not good: don't upgrade to 7.0. :-(
Please, can I beg some brainpower? It might be finger-pointing between
the OS and Xorg, but I think it needs Xorg consideration before I work on
NetBSD to fix..
cheers
