Yes. Escher is quite out dated. I had to modify it considerably to get 
it work for Looking Glass.
But now it works and I use it all the time. The copy I use is in the 
lg3d-escher project on java.net.
Feel free to use it if you want. (But be aware that Escher is licensed 
as GPL v2)
