intel video driver : DVI output through SVDO addon looks a bit blurry

Hello,

I have set up a dual monitor system by adding an ADD2 SVDO extension on the PCIx16 slot of my motherboard.

My setup is :
DG965SS with G965 onboard GPU
DVI ADD2 Adapter Card
Two Samsung SyncMaster 22" LCD screens (one 225BW and one 226BW), native res 1680x1050 each.
OS is Unbuntu Studio updated to gutsy, which means
Xorg 1.3.0 (or 7.2, I don't really get the versioning scheme)
Xorg Intel video driver 2.1.0

I wanted to have a xinerama (or nvidia twinview) like setup with a screen on the left and one on the right.

When I boot, I get a twins (one screen clone of the other), which I don't really care about.
When I start X, the clone mode is still there, but I put a xrandr statement in my KDE autostart area, namely :

/usr/bin/xrandr --output TMDS-1 --right-of VGA

This worked very nicely after I set the Virtual size in xorg.conf as being 3360x1050.

So far so good. But I am a bit puzzled when it comes to the sharpness of the extension screen. It looks blurry, I can read stuff no problem, but it is at a level on the edge of discomfort. The first screen, which get the VGA output of the onboard GPU is very sharp. I expected the same from the DVI extension for the second screen. Is it a limitation of the xorg intel driver ? Here is the output of xrandr :
