Hi,
There are a couple of things that are still in the works; I've been
waiting for them to settle before I can provide a good update of what
the board's up to. But, we're funding some students with great Summer
of Code applications who missed out on the official Google Summer of
Code (we only got three applications): the Foundation will sponsor them
for the exact same amount as Google.

We're also focussing much more heavily on developer conferences, where
our developers can learn and be productive, rather than trade shows,
where the attendees are mostly corporate. In the past, the Foundation
seems to have had a heavy focus on trade shows, to the detriment of
developer-focussed conferences.

Cheers,
Daniel, your friendly local[0] board member
