Built DRI modules - Can these driver sizes be right?

Folks,

    After compiling the modular tree, I have compiled the dri drivers 
following http://dri.freedesktop.org/wiki/Building. However, I need a sanity 
check. The file size for the drivers that were compiled were close to *ten 
time* larger than the original driver files. For example:

Old drivers:

Can this be right??? Or did something explode and balloon the size of the 
driver files during the compile process? Just a sanity check. What say the 
experts?
