Couldn't bind redirected window 0x140000a to texture, error with Beryl? glproto?

Hey folks,

I'm trying to get Beryl (with aiglx) working under gentoo.  I have an
Intel 915gm card on my laptop.  When I run Beryl, I get a pretty
splash screen and then a bunch of white windows, with a gray
background.

The terminal shows (once I kill beryl):

According to the beryl bug db [1] this is an issue with xorg.
According to gentoo [2] this is an issue with glproto v1.4.8.  I tried
downgrading glproto to 1.4.7 and recompiling again, but I still get
the same issue.  ( emerge -1 -av  =glproto-1.4.7 mesa xorg-server
xf86-video-i810 beryl-core ).

So I thought I'd ask the experts if they have any advice.  Any
hints/suggestions?

ps - Beryl/compiz xgl/aiglx effects are pretty cool (the white windows
still do the fancy jiggly moving and expose like effects...)  I'm
looking forward to seeing it in it's full glory.
