I believe Jerome actually meant 'LIBGL_DEBUG=verbose glxinfo'.

There are a couple of possabilities.  First, you may not have the proper
DRI driver installed in a place where libGL can find it.  The output of
the command above will tell that for sure.

The other possability is that there is a version mismatch between libGL
and the installed DRI driver.  Is this an out-of-the-box installation,
or did you install X or DRI drivers yourself?

The final possability is that there is a mismatch between the DRI driver
and the kernel module.  I think LIBGL_DEBUG=verbose will answer that
question, but it may not.  Again, is this an out-of-the-box
installation, or did you install your own kernel or DRM package?
