Problem with viapanelgetindex

So, im pretty sure this list is not the right place to ask for help, but 
since i havent been able to find a official forum, ill go ahead and ask 
anyway.

I have a laptop with a 1024x768 px internal display.
When i use x.org with the vesa driver, theres no problem.

However, when i use x.org with the via driver
it dosent start op, it says "screens were found, but none usable"
i digged around the log, and found that viapanelgetindex tells that 
every single resolution is unusable with the panel (internal monitor)
however, now it gets a bit funny, cuz, when i plug in an external 
monitor, it starts up fine (on the internal one!)

Is there a way to tell the xserver to ignore the viapanelgetindex ?
