I am no authority on anything here, but perhaps the bluetooth stuff 
would be a good place to look for code? You can hook up e.g. your mobile 
phone and use it to control the mouse, move it around and make clicks etc.

Sounds very similar to what you are doing, so perhaps it may help you out?

I don't really know the ins and outs of it, but probably worth looking 
into. I think it is probably the hidd (human interface device daemon) 
that will be of interest but I could be wrong...
