Hello all,
Im not really deep into x but ive encountered an x window system error
which i've been struggling to solve unfortunately up until now without
success.
I am developing a vst server using an embedded linux.
vst:~ # uname -a
Linux vst 2.6.15 #21 PREEMPT Thu Mar 30 22:11:02 CEST 2006 i686 unknown
also i am using Wine 20050725, fst-1.8 (FreeST VST Plugin loader) and
several different plugin dlls to test. i connect to my server via telnet
or ssh (tried both ssh -X and -Y ). the server is a xclient and my
develpoment host is used as xserver.
Now everything is fine with one tested plugin.. the plugin gui is
displayed. But loading more current plugins causes following
x window system error...
8<----8<----8<----8<----8<----8<----8<----
vst:/opt/fst # ./fst /mnt/testsuite/oberon4/Oberon-8.dll
yo... lets see...
The program 'fst.exe.so' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadAccess (attempt to access private resource denied)'.
(Details: serial 114 error_code 10 request_code 144 minor_code 1)
(Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line
option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error()
function.)
8<----8<----8<----8<----8<----8<----8<----
i have suspected that the newer plugin dlls include some routines that
are not allowed by the x server access control, but i don't really have
a clue where to start looking for. the x logs don't indicate anything of
use either.
i haven't found anything really helpful in the internet nor in the linux
audio list to which i normally write to. so in hope of some useful
advice here i wrote to this list.
Any help would be great!
Cheers,
Ben
