New app-defaults location in X.Org 7

Hi

Since the default location for app-defaults files in X.Org 7 is now
/usr/share/X11/app-defaults I wonder if there is an easy workaround
for legacy X11 apps available so that both directories
/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/app-defaults *and* /usr/share/X11/app-defaults are
read (the latter one preferred)? The same is also interesting for
systems on which you only update X.Org and not the X11 apps. Any hint
would be appreciated.
