Xgl with ati (radeon/fglrx) report

I've been trying to use Xgl with the fglrx (8.26.18) driver, but it
ships with an old Mesa version which does not support some extensions
needed by compiz (something about non power of two). Installing Mesa 6.5
seems to generate binary incompatibility and X does not start, reporting
an error. So, i've tried with the radeon driver (using Mesa 6.5 dri). It
works very well, just some operations are slow, like page scrolling.

So here is the report with the radeon driver:
- No crashes so far
- No flickering
- No font defects
- No drawing problems
- Scrolling is slow
- Moving windows is fast
- Videos works fine, not slow
- EXA seems to cause mouse cursor problems, and drawing glitches, XAA
works fine
- MergedFB does not work, X does not start

gnome-xgl-info reports:
U ATI Technologies Inc RS300M AGP [Radeon Mobility 9100IGP]
0 x11-video-fglrx ati-fglrx-kmp-default /etc/X11/xgl-fglrx-setup.sh
1

I'm using Suse 10.1, with Mesa, Xgl and compiz packages from factory.

If any info is need, i would be happy to help.

Thanks,
TMS.
